Users review: I find it ironic that Gerard Butler, The Scotsman, as a disgraced Secret Agent Mike rejection, people realize more of John McClane Bruce Willis did, that had a terrible outing. If there is, Butler does not do anything other than cement his reputation as a viable action hero and sympathetic in the new generation of old-school action movie. He has a commanding presence on screen, sarcastic wisecracks, bleeding, when essential, and send the bad guys to plan a cross between Jason Bourne and John Rambo. Even a good supporting cast (Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott) can take limelight.Indeed Butler, Antoine Fuquas Olympus Has Fallen is not only great entertainment, but a major setback for the major events of the year 90 's film, Die hard clone - and this film (Die Hard in the White House) is another reminder of why the formula is believed to work, even if it has been inactive for nearly two decades (both last big is the sudden death of Peter Hyams). If it is not broke, do not fix it.Its fast, loud, crazy, but I enjoyed every minute of it. This film is packed sensational action sequences and well-shot / special effects, but its greatest strength is cohesion. From start to finish the plot moves smoothly, and you can tell who the good kind and the bad guys. Signs are established, their motive is clear, and thats about it. The action scenes are not ignoring each other, they flow perfectly as a strength, thanks to the crisp editing. Simplicity is the key here and convoluted plot does not fit the formula (heard that Die Hard 5?) Fuqua is no stranger to action to keep Shooter led six years ago. Here He ratchets up the action to 10 (the CGI is present, but used in moderation), and he does not hold a sufficient tension. It was not Training Day, but it is more or less similar with Antoine Fuqua makes Replacement Killers. Just pull fun.Of, of course, the plot is not original. It is a genre picture, and what to pay to see a genre picture is a skilled craft and a single plot. This film is both alive and dead hard clone from the grave.
